3D Topographic Image Display System

The 3D Topographic Image Display System combines the results from NIRS-investigations with MRI-images to generate a sophisticated 3-dimensional and dynamic model of changing hemoglobin concentrations projected on the brain surface. After the careful determination of the exact position of each emitter/detector, the 3D-coordinates are loaded into the system software. The system then extracts the cerebral cortex from the MRI-data and generates the head- and brain polygons; distinct marker points (nasion and both preauriculars) are then used to guide the NIRS-information precisely to the position where it has been recorded.

Video Interface

The video interface gives the user the possibility to observe and record experiments. After connecting a video camera to the ETG-4000, the software automatically controls and synchronizes the real-time recordings of NIRS-data and video footage.

3x11 Fiber Holder

The 3x11 fiber holder combines all optical fibers in a single array and allows the simultaneous measurement of an extended area of the brain. By combining all fibers in the 3x11 configuration the number of measurement channels increases to 52 channels.

Neonate/Infant Probe

Light-weight probes designed for the use with neonates and young infants are available. The optical fibers are embedded in soft silicon cushions, avoiding any discomfort and keeping probes light. Two different configurations are offered, dual 3x3 configuration (24 channels), or a single 3x5 configuration (22 channels). Both configurations can be combined extending the number of measurement channels to 46.
