The MRI system has the characteristics that imaging takes time and the system is too sensitive to examinee's motion. It can be considered as the diagnostic system which absolutely needs cooperation from examinees for obtaining good images. The APERTO Eterna has realized a wide and open space by adopting a single-pillar structure, and is the only one system among Hitachi Open MRI systems.
The Open MRI, due to this structure, can provide an imaging environment different from that of the Closed MRI, and therefore, it helps obtaining examinee's collaboration easily and this is a good feature.

Offset position of the pillar facilitates the light entering into the center of the gantry. The coloring newly adopted gives a secured feeling to examinees in consideration of the lighting environment inside the examination room.
Lateral slide of the table inside the gantry allows setting of the areas out of the mid line (such as shoulder and knee joints) to the center of the magnetic field.
The table which can be lowered enables young children and aged patients to get on and off easily.
Footswitch allows the table to move up and down and to and fro. It not only contributes to the throughput improvement but also allows gentle care of the examinees with free hands of the operator.
